Tidbits from the world of software, hardware and productivity.
Tools and techniques I love and think you might enjoy. I like to believe they make me more productive. Please let me know if you think that's nonsense 😅.
Workstation
UHK
The name Ultimate Hacking Keyboard might be a bit too much. But it has done wonders for my productivity (more keyboard focus) and my wrist health.
Height adjustable desk
I can't believe it took so long for these to catch on. I have a simple one with a manual crank in my office which serves me fine. Usually in the up position, which allows me to alternate between different standing postures easily.
Pull-up bar
Yes, I' describing my office and not my gym. During calls and thinking breaks I like to stretch my back by just hanging on it. It is located right next to my desk. A simple yet extremely effective tool for preventing lower back pain.
Development tools
zed
Fast and pretty minimal as it leaves most work to the LSP. Claude Code integration works well.
DataGrip
Is worth the money. I mainly use it for managing Postgres databases. No, I'm not afraid of writing my SQL by hand 😉.
Graphite
I stack PRs for a living. Graphite has had a big positive impact on my workflow. Both when authoring and reviewing Pull Requests.
Linear
Hits the project management sweet spot for the smaller clients I'm currently contracting for.
